Hi, my name is Martin, i am 25 yrs old. I left school one year ago. I have applied the alternative service of education and now been serving in the elementary school. Many people say alternative service is a easy job, they look down the peopel who are doing this. I can feel this attitude when some male teachers talking about their military experiences. They even think that the alternative service is not euqal to the traditional military service, it just the way to skip training. Honestly, I admit the alternative service is not as tough as military service, and I still can enjor the "precious" freedom that soilders in army desire for. I cant contend this kind of arguments. But one thing I would like to advocate is we are all serving for our country, our goal has no difference. Since soliders devote their life for national security; we dovote our skills for our society. Most of school employment consisted by teachers. They are trainning for teaching. They are incapacity for doing school cleaning, guarding, stuff moving document collecting and missing student searching.Before the alternative of education draftee move in, teachers in the school, especially in contryside schools, have to take care of these annoying jobs,that will cause the inferences of knowledge passing. Even though we only do very little help in school, we cost schools "0" to serve them. I just cant figure out why people call the policy of alternative service is just a meaningless policy. We also have a short period of base military training.If one day Taiwan is involving with war, we still can walk into the battle. My final record of 3k running in rookie trainning camp is 13"00. I know that many soliders cant make it in one and half year of military training. In my opinion, I'll call that meaningless. Why they cant reach the record I created in one month? Dont they feel shame to call their training "tough"? Soliders, plase doing your training solidly before you guys criticize alternative draftee.
