The 32-year old Kaiserslautern playmaker, who earned one cap in the late 1990s, will be expected to provide a creative spark to the Croatian midfield that has been missing for some time. 'I expect Bjelica to put in a good performance and earn his place on the team,' said Baric. Baric will also give substitute goalkeepers Tomislav Butina of Bruges and uncapped Australian-born Joey Didulica a chance to play while first-choice Stipe Pletikosa will be on the bench. Benfica striker Tomislav Sokota, who limped off with a thigh injury during Croatia's friendly against Turkey in March, has also been recalled. Bayern Munich central defender Robert Kovac and Anderlecht striker Ivica Mornar are unavailable through injury, while midfielder Zvonimir Soldo has declined Baric's offer to return to internationals after an excellent season with VfB Stuttgart.
