May 23 RHP Jason Schmidt, starting at the Class AAA level for the first time
in his rehab, was knocked out of Saturday's game at Albuquerque after being
hit in the head by a batted ball. A third-inning liner from Salt Lake's
Freddy Sandoval struck Schmidt, who was knocked down but got up on his own
before leaving the game. Schmidt hasn't pitched in the majors since having
major shoulder surgery in June 2007.
