One day, some stude nts didn't know how to solve a math problem, so I asked them to sit down and l isten carefully while I explained it. Later, one student asked me about the same type of problem. I became frustrate d and said, "I just explained this. Why are you asking me again?" Then, my coworker told me that the student hadn't been there when I explained the problem. I immediately realized that I had made a mistake and blamed him u nfairly. I was concerned that the incident might negatively affect his motivation to le arn, so I acknowledged my mistake and sincerely apologized to him in front of the other students and teachers. The student forgave me immediately. This experience taught me not only to be patient with my students but also to understand the situation before making assumptions.
