TRISTAN: "I WANT TO PLAY IN THE NEXT WORLD CUP" Wednesday 13th July, 2005 -- Diego Trista'n continues with his physical preparation, the injury that affected him last season has not healed yet, but for now the Sevillian striker has an optimist view about his evolution. Trista'n also talked of the new process with Caparro's and his personal objectives for the new season. Q: What do you think about the process for your recuperation? A: I'm going in the right direction. I'm satisfied with the work that we are doing and now it's possible to see me training with the rest of the group. This is a moment in which I have to be careful, because my anxiety to play could cause me more troubles. My evolution is good and I'm ready to comeback. Q: Do you have a planned date for the comeback? A: No I don't . It must be the date that the doctors considered as the most appropriate. Despite all this, my evolution is good as I mentioned before, all the work that we have done is giving the expected results and my comeback is near. Q: Was your injury more serious than you thought at the beginning? A: Yes. It was complicated. Even somebody mentioned that a surgery could be needed, but with all the work done my situation is improving. It's truth that it take some time, but the results are here and now I can train with my partners. Q: What is the roll of Trista'n in the new Deportivo of Caparro's? A: I think that my work here is what I always wanted. The player must be with his team trying to contribute with great things. I’m working for that and I'm expecting to receive the trust form the coach. He believes in me since the first minute. I have to work harder because in football nobody give you anything for free, the name doesn't help you. It's necessary to work hard and when the time to play arrives I want to demonstrate my skills. Q: There were a lot of talking about you as captain of the squad. Despite this you will have to begin from zero in order to convince the coach... A: That's for sure. That thing of been captain was a fact that just appeared. I don't have any problem with my teammates and I will only be another member of this squad. I just want to help to achieve the results. Q: Illusion and compromise are the most common words of the new coach. Do you fell a difference from the last season? A: The compromise is big, but it's has been the same always. The fact is that a new coach gives a lot of illusion and the team start to think with another mentality. The reality is that we have a new illusion, it doesn't mean that we didn't have it before, it's just that since the last season was bad everyone wants an improvement. With the new coach things are faced with new ideas and the will starts to flow. Q: The absence of reinforcements is a negative thing or is just that the club continues to believe in this group? A: We have a pretty good squad. It's truth that every club have necessities for new players, but I'm happy with this group of men. I believe that if we will have a reinforcement it will come in order to improve what we have here. Q: And if the new signing is a striker? A: I don't care, if we will get an important player that will help us is a positive thing. The coaches are the best persons to decide this things. But we must avoid to sign a player just for the pleasure of doing it, because we already have a good squad. Q: What are the objectives of the squad? A: The main objective is to be totally concentrated in the Intertoto cup. We want to do a good tournament and we have a compromise here, some players resigned to have more vacations for this reason. The objective for the rest of the season is clear: To end la liga in the top four positions and to fight until the end in all the competitions. Q: And your personal objectives? A: To win a spot in the national team of Spain. It’s an important challenge for me. One of my objectives is to participate in the next World Cup, but for that I must win more confidence.
