SCALONI IS RECOVERING FROM HIS INJURY Argentinean midfielder Lionel Scaloni missed some important matches with Depor at the end of the season because of a pubic injury. Although it isn’t a complicated situation this kind of problems need more time in the process of recuperation. Scaloni suffered from this injury since the middle of the season. But knowing that the recovery could take several days he decided to wait until the squad was out of the competitions for starting the treatment. While most of his teammates now are on holiday, Scaloni is in La Coruna to work on his fitness. Every morning and afternoon he visits the Deporclinica and is helped by Pablo Lopez, one of the doctors of the club. The program he follows will help him to start next season at the same level as the rest of the players and will avoid the possibility of surgery. From the start of February, Lionel Scaloni played all minutes from Liga matchday 23 until 28, both legs against Juventus and the first one against Milan in the San Siro. After this one he started to feel pain in the damaged area. Cesar Cobian, the doctor of the club, decided to give him some days rest and because of this he didn't appear until the matches against Real Madrid and Espanyol at the end of the season. Scaloni explained his workout program and the reason why he decided to delay the beginning of his treatment: "I postponed the recovery so that I could help the team. Only at the moment the club was out of the competitions I began the process of recovery. I feel sorry that I wasn’t able to help my teammates at the end of the season. But it was the right choice”. “My work now is very routine. Since the end of the season I am working on my recovery but it’s the only choice I have in order to start the next season at the same level as the rest of the players have. It isn't a matter of life or death; I just have to maintain exercising the affected zone”. The prize that he will have to pay is a shorter period of holiday. He accepts this and is thinking about the future: "There isn't a problem as I will be 25 days in Argentina with my family. The other players will have more days of holiday but that doesn't matter. I will be capable of starting next season at 100% and I will leave this problem behind me”. According to the doctors, Scaloni will have to work one more week on his recovery. --
