Camerius Mills, 29, is charged with traveling to meet a child for unlawful sex acts, second degree sodomy and second degree rape. The Henry County Sheriff's Office received the complaint from DHR. Investigators were able to confirm the allegations and he was arrested in Georgia, where he's from. At least one of the crimes occurred at The Hardridge Creek Campground in Henry County. Because it's government property, federal investigators became involved. "He will have to register as a sex offender once he's fulfilled his time in the state penalty system, but who knows what that will be with all these counts," said Henry County Sheriff, William Maddox. Maddox says Mills confessed to investigators and showed remorse for his actions when he left court on Thursday. When asked if he had anything he'd like to say to the family, Mills said, "I just want to say that I apologize and I hope God can forgive me." Maddox says this is the second child predator that has been recently charged in Henry County. "Thank goodness for the child advocacy center. They helped tremendously," Maddox said. "If it wasn't for them I don't know what we'd do as far as interview because the children are just more comfortable down there, and they're professional in what they do but the main thing is to get child predators off the street." The judge set the defendants bond at $455,000. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 7 at 1:30 p.m. The defendant was not represented in court Thursday, but he was appointed an attorney. --
