Johnson Tribune staff reporter Published April 14, 2005, 1:02 PM CDT The Bulls have called a 7 p.m. news conference at the Berto Center, at which time they will announce that center Eddy Curry will be sidelined for the remainder of the regular season and playoffs because of his irregular heartbeat, a team source said. Curry has been sidelined since complaining of an irregular heartbeat on March 30 in Charlotte. The team said he missed the game because of flu-like symptoms, but the Tribune reported that Curry experienced arrhythmia that kept him in Charlotte overnight. He underwent testing for two days in Charlotte and then was transferred to Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, where he underwent further testing. Results of that testing proved inconclusive, creating the need for Curry to visit specialists in Boston last Friday and in Minnesota on Tuesday. Results of those tests will be announced at the news conference, but the team's cautious approach will continue, as Curry will miss the remainder of the season. Curry, the team's leading scorer at 16.1 points per game, will be a restricted free agent this summer. General manager John Paxson and team physicians Brian Cole and Kathy Weber will join Curry at the news conference.
