However, Lukaku and Pulisic burst into life after the break, with the Belgian earning and then converting a penalty to put us ahead before the duo combined to extend our lead through Romelu's second. It wasn't to last, though, as we were caught out twice to allow the visitors to hit back twice, getting their equaliser in the seventh and final minute of added time. == Back with a bang == The end result should take nothing away from the performances of Lukaku and Pulisic, though, as they joined Timo Werner in the front three at the Bridge. https://i.imgur.com/Z1inP9B.jpg Their showing was even more impressive given how patiently they have had to wait for their opportunity. Lukaku was making only his second Premier League start since February, while Pulisic last started in the competition when scoring in the 4-0 win at Burnley in early March. The pair certainly seemed eager to make up for lost time, each contributing four to our total of 19 shots, giving them the joint-highest number of anyone. Lukaku was also responsible for half of our six shots on target, giving him an impressive ratio of four shots, three on target and two goals, although Pulisic was hampered by having two of his four efforts blocked by defenders. https://i.imgur.com/CVSRvAM.jpg Pulisic took up a slightly different role from what we have usually seen from him out wide, playing more centrally in support of a front two of Lukaku and Werner, operating in a similar position to the one we have seen Mason Mount occupying recently. That saw the American picking up spaces between the Wolves defence and midfield to try and hurt them using a combination of direct passing and his ability to carry the ball past opponents. His six dribbles were more than anyone else on the pitch, and twice as many as anyone else in Blue. https://i.imgur.com/zdIgA3S.jpg In a sign of how Pulisic became the focal point of our attacks, his 41 passes were significantly more than Lukaku and Werner combined, while only one Wolves player (Joao Moutinho with 49) could match that figure. He showed quality as well as quantity, though, as no-one could match his four key passes, although Lukaku was close behind with three. Of course, those Pulisic passes include the assist for our second goal, when he won possession in a dangerous area and quickly threaded it to Lukaku, who scored with an early shot. Impressively his five attempted tackles was the highest number of any player, and only Antonio Rudiger (four) succeeded in more than his three. == Caught on the break == Tuchel also said after this 2-2 draw he felt our decision making had cost us the victory against Wolves, and he seems to have a point as we conceded twice after taking the lead. Our opponents' approach of sitting deep and closing the space before surging forward quickly on the counter caused us problems, as shown by the four shots at goal they created with fast breaks, while we didn't manage any via that method. https://i.imgur.com/v1hiiU5.jpg Despite Chelsea having more shots overall (19 to 14) and more shots on target (six to four), Wolves' habit of exploiting the space and numbers on the counter when we committed bodies forward in attack told in the end through the quality of their chances, with the visitors just about edging the expected goals tally, even if it still rounds out to an accurate 2-2 draw. https://i.imgur.com/Rw4O6By.jpg Thiago Silva certainly didn't deserve to concede two goals, though, after another colossal performance at the back. The Brazilian won the most aerial duels (five) and made the joint-most interceptions of anyone (four), as well as having the highest number of clearances (five) and blocks (two) for Chelsea.
