The Chelsea captain underwent state-of-the-art endoscopic surgery on Thursday to remove a sequestrated lumbar intervertebral disc that had been troubling him for some time. The problem had kept out of action since the game at Everton on December 17. On Friday, less than 24 hours after the operation, Terry followed instructions from the surgeon was jogging at the training ground. The acceleration in his recovery programme came before yesterday's Fulham game when prior to the match, Terry took to the Stamford Bridge pitch for a session of proper running, as opposed to jogging, and some kicking of footballs (pictured). Then after the drawn London derby, those people who remained in the stadium after the final whistle saw the skipper again in action, running up and down the touchline. Sky Sports report Terry as saying: 'I can't believe how well I feel. I would like to think I could play against Macclesfield in the FA Cup next week. 'I was struggling. I don't know how it happened but I could not sleep for weeks. 'I have really been uncomfortable. Basically part of a disc in my back had become dislodged and it was pressing on a nerve and making it impossible for me to play, kick, do anything.
