He has been speaking about the decisions made. Chelsea's senior professional found himself in the middle of one of the more unusual club versus country debates when he was called up by France for the start of the Euro 2008 qualification campaign. That was despite declaring his intention to quit international football after the World Cup Final back in July. Now a settlement has been reached whereby Maka will play for his nation until the qualification quest comes to an end. Further reports suggest he will sit out next Wednesday's game against the Faroe Islands if France achieve a good result against Scotland on Saturday. “For me it is a good decision now,” he told Chelsea TV about the original plan. “The national team want me to come again and help and it is a difficult decision. “The most important thing now is that me and Chelsea have a good feeling about it. The manager told me it is okay now and he gave me a good feeling for the national team. I need to help the national team reach the Finals.” And there it will end. The 33 year-old appreciates the importance of a summer rest so will not take part in the 2008 Finals even if France make it through. “I think that is too much,” he confirms. “Every year we have a lot a games and I need some time for my club, Chelsea. Time to play better, to be careful for myself and to play 100 per cent for Chelsea. I am not feeling old.
