by Jim Keat WILLIAM GALLAS last night launched a bitter attack on ex-boss Jose Mourinho and accused Chelsea of LYING. Arsenal's new defender insists he never threatened to score an own goal and blames Mourinho for stunting his growth as a player. Gallas made his debut for the Gunners in yesterday's 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough following his part-exchange swap with Ashley Cole. The Frenchman blasted: "I NEVER said I would score an own goal, and I will always maintain that. "I could have become one of the best players in the world at Chelsea but was never given the chance. "I was dragged around to play in different positions just to please the manager." Furious Chelsea chiefs claim Gallas made a series of bizarre threats in an amazing feud with Mourinho in order to force a move away from Stamford Bridge. Shocked But Gallas, 29, added: "I have been done a disservice for a long time. "I couldn't progress as a player because you need stability ─ I never had that." Gallas was shocked to be left lagging behind the top earners at Stamford Bridge. New boy Michael Ballack's ￡130,000-a-week summer deal was the final straw. Gallas added: "It wasn't the position in itself which bothered me, just the fact I was always changing.
