The second programme of the talent search show series Football Icon is being broadcast on Sky One at 7pm. Last week, thousands of young hopefuls attended the Football Icon roadshows in Manchester, the West Midlands and London. Now, in show two, the 40 best players from the roadshows finally get the chance to show what they can do on the pitch. Chelsea Youth Academy manager Neil Bath and his team, as well as guest judge Ray Wilkins, Chelsea’s youngest ever captain, will choose the best 20 players from the two games arranged. They will be invited back for a final elimination match the following day: from which 12 boys will be selected to start a six week trial with the Blues. The 12 will return to Cobham on next week’s show and begin training with the Youth Academy. They will face a tough elimination process which will see one of them winning a professional contract.
