Cavs' Varejao out three to four weeks
Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - Cleveland Cavaliers forward/center Anderson
Varejao was examined on Wednesday and it was revealed that he has a left
ankle sprain with bone bruises.
Team physician Dr. Richard Parker evaluated Varejao at Cleveland Clinic
Courts and determined that Varejao will be out three to four weeks.
Varejao sprained the ankle during Sunday's 98-95 win versus the Los Angeles
Lakers.
Varejao, who was running the floor with LeBron James handling the ball,
stepped on Lakers' Sasha Vujacic's foot and rolled his left ankle with 3:12
left in the third quarter. He stayed on the floor near the Cavs' foul line
for several minutes before being helped to the locker room without putting
any weight on the ankle.
He is averaging 7.8 points and 8.5 rebounds this season.
