SPOILED-for-choice New York audiences haven't been shy about Cate Blanchett's
US stage debut in Hedda Gabler. The Sydney Theatre Company production opens
at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in March and has already taken $US750,000
(about $1 million) in advance sales, making it the best-selling show at the
venue in 10 years. STC's artistic director Robyn Nevin begins rehearsals today
with the cast of the 2004 production, which includes Hugo Weaving and Julie
Hamilton.
