北京時間8月30日凌晨，意大利足協官方公布了入選最新一期國家隊的28名國腳
名單，其中最引人注意的要數「原子螞蟻」喬文科，這位矮個子前鋒時隔9個月重返
國家隊，現效力於多倫多FC的他與同在美國大聯盟踢球的老將皮爾洛一同入選。
在俱樂部方面，作為前尤文圖斯的主帥，孔蒂似乎還是對斑馬軍團更為倚重，一
共有5位尤文球員入選了本次國家隊，AC米蘭與國際米蘭入選的人數分別為2人和1人。
此外，孔蒂此次還征召了9名在海外效力的球員，除了喬文科和皮爾洛，還有法甲3人
、英超2人、西甲1人、俄超1人入選。
本次集結，意大利將迎來2016年歐洲杯預選賽兩個主場的賽事，
他們將在北京時間9月4日與7日的凌晨先後對陣馬耳他和保加利亞。
意大利以3勝3平落後克羅地亞暫列H組第2位，不過他們只領先身後的挪威2分，
想要確保小組前兩位直接晉級，這兩場主場面對弱旅的比賽不容有失。
