Van der Meyde seeks move to Italy

Unsettled Everton winger Andy van der Meyde is seeking to leave the club and
return to Italy.
The Dutch star has been plagued with injuries since his ￡5m move from
Inter Milan in August 2005 and has failed to live up to his exciting
reputation.
He was also omitted from Holland's World Cup squad after previously being a
regular and told the Sunday Mirror he wants a move back to Serie A.
"I am sorry to have quit Italian football and Inter," he said.
AC Milan and Juventus have already been contacted by Van der Meyde's advisers
and he is hopeful a deal can be finalised before the start of the new season.
The player added: "I wanted to earn a place in the World Cup squad but I only
played 10 games in the Premiership because of injuries."
