After Treviso's 0-0 draw with Cagliari, which resulted in the Sardinian side firing their third Coach of the season in Davide Ballardini, President Ettore Setten announced that Rossi had also been axed. In the cold light of day, however, it seems that Rossi may have earned a reprieve as the Venetian club weigh up their options. "We are conducting a complete evaluation of the situation," announced club secretary Giovanni Gardini on Monday evening after confirming that Rossi will remain in charge of first team affairs. "Given that we have a weekend off next week we still have a bit more time to carefully assess our options," he added. It seems then that Treviso are merely buying time before securing the services of Rossi's inevitable successor. Ex-Fiorentina and Lecce boss Alberto Cavasin is favourite to take over at the Omobono Tenni Stadium.
