Anthony’s figure will reside next to George Steinbrenner, Derek Jeter, Yao Ming, Michael Jordan, Jackie Joyner-Kersee, and Evander Holyfield. Following the initial unveil, Anthony changed into his official Knicks uniform and posed like his figure while groups of visitors checked out the new addition to Madame Tussauds New York. In what might be his best acting performance, Anthony crouched in his free throw stance and remained perfectly still. Unaware they would encounter the real Carmelo Anthony; fans were shocked when he jumped out of his stance. The visitors were rewarded with a picture and an unforgettable moment with the NBA star. In the midst of the excitement, Anthony answered some questions about his recent meeting with New York head coach Mike Woodson, Tyson Chandler, and Jeremy Lin in California. “It was good. I was there for a about a week and a half, just out there training and getting ready for the Olympics. The coaching staff came out there and showed their support. I’ve been working with the trainers, just trying to stay in shape, trying to get fit and ready for the Olympics that is coming up soon,” Anthony explained. He added, “The way I look at is, it’s the best workouts I’m going to be able to get in any summer. I’m going up against the best players in the world and playing with the best players in the world.
