Tampa Bay RHP James Shields who made the start for Durham (3 runs in 5.1 IP)
but the Sox could not overcome an early 4-0 deficit in remaining winless on
the early spring.
Pawtucket had four players enjoy fine offensive games led by CF Che-Hsuan Lin
who went 3-for-3 with 3 singles including a 2-run single in the 3rd-inning.SS
Jose Iglesias ripped 2 hits including an RBI single in the 6th-inning. Catcher
Ryan Lavarnway belted a 2-run HR (#1) in the 8th-inning to pull the PawSox to
within 6-5. 3B Jorge Jimenez added 2 hits and scored 2 runs.
Adam Mills (0-1) was the starter and loser for the PawSox allowing 2 runs on 3
hits in 2-innings of work. Ryne Lawson (2 IP, 2 runs), Daniel Turpen (2
scoreless innings), Michael Lee (2 runs in 2 IP), and Santo Luis (scoreless
9th) all worked in relief.
Pawtucket plays at the Rochester Red Wings (AAA-Minnesota) on Saturday
afternoon in Lee County, FL.
