There are just a few days left before the CFA examinations. Are you ready?

Here are some tips that may help you as examination day approaches:
1. The key to success on the CFA examinations is to focus your study
on the Learning Outcome Statements.
2. Get a good night's sleep so that you arrive at the test center well
rested. Don't attempt to do too much last-minute studying on the night
before. Success or failure on the examination is determined by what you
have done over the past few months, not what you do on the night before
the examination.
3. Arrive at the test center early so that you don't add to your stress
level by wondering if you will make it to the test center on time.
4. Where applicable, begin the examination with the topic area that you
feel most confident in your knowledge. Such a strategy helps you to build
confidence. Confidence is an important factor on any examination.
5. Carefully manage your time. Don't spend too much time on any one
question or topic area.
6. Don't discuss specifics of the morning section of the examination
with other candidates over the lunch break. Too often, a candidate's
confidence is shattered after discussing the examination with other
candidates. This leads to poor performance on the afternoon section of
the examination.
7. Realize that no individual has ever received a perfect score on any
Level of the CFA examination. There will be some questions on the
examination that you will not be able to answer either correctly or
completely.
SPECIAL NOTICE TO CANDIDATES IN GENEVA
Please remember that you may experience travel delays on examination day
due to the arrival of delegates to the G8 Summit which will be held in
Evian, France. Refer to our earlier e-mail message.
SPECIAL NOTICE TO CANDIDATES IN HONG KONG, SINGAPORE, and TAIPEI
Please remember to complete the Clearance Form (available on the AIMR Web
site) and bring it with you to the test center. Arrive at the test center
early and expect some delays due to health screenings. Refer to our earlier
e-mail messages or visit the Web site for more details.
ID POLICY
Check your identification now to be sure that it meets AIMR's requirements,
and replace it immediately if any requirement is not met. Your
identification must be a single document issued by a government agency,
which is current and valid and contains your photograph. AIMR's preferred
form of candidate identification is a valid passport. You can review the
complete policy in the April 2003 edition of Candidate Bulletin at
http://www.aimr.org/pdf/canservices/april03_canbull.pdf.
CFA EXAMINATION INFORMATION WEBCASTS
AIMR offers candidates the opportunity to participate in CFA candidate
Webcasts made available on AIMR Direct. This free service is offered to
all enrolled candidates and has two parts:
?SPAN> Part 1: Pre-recorded video presentation with slides available
from 1 April 2003 through the examination date.
?SPAN> Part 2: Live Question and Answer sessions took place on 5 May
2003. The recordings of the sessions are available on demand.
See www.aimrdirect.org for more information.
EXAMINATION ADMISSION TICKETS AVAILABLE ONLINE
If you haven't received your paper ticket by mail yet, remember that you
can download your ticket from the Web site at
http://www.aimr.org/canservices. If you don't have access to the Internet,

Canada or 1-434-951-5499) or fax (1-434-951-5262) and ask that a copy of
your ticket be faxed to you. Please note that you will not be permitted
to sit for the examinations if you do not have a ticket.
CALCULATOR POLICY
You don't have much time to purchase one of the two permitted models, but
remember, you will not be allowed to use any other calculators on the
examination. AIMR maintains a list of calculator dealers; if you're still
in need of a calculator, please visit
http://www.aimr.org/pdf/canservices/april03_canbull.pdf for an explanation
of the policy and a list of retailers.
VIOLATIONS OF PERSONAL BELONGINGS POLICY
Last year, many candidates brought unauthorized items to the test center.
Please be aware that if you bring unauthorized items to the test center it
will result in a Violation Report submitted to AIMR. To avoid disciplinary
warnings and possible sanctions related to such violations, please remember
that you are not permitted to bring the following items to the test center:
baggage of any kind such as backpacks, handbags, tote bags, briefcases, or
luggage;
study materials including notes, papers, textbooks, study guides, scratch
paper, present/future value tables, or calculator manuals;
cellular telephones, pagers, headsets, computers, electronic organizers,
personal data assistants, or any other remote communication or photographic
devices.
Please review your examination admission ticket and the Candidate Bulletin
for more information regarding personal belongings at the test center.
We wish you success on the CFA examination.
