86. 懺悔業障 (d) Repent and Reform of All Karmic Hindrance 【普賢菩薩十大願王第四條】 Universal Goodness Bodhisattva's Fourth Great Vow 節自宣化上人開示 Excerpt from Venerable Master Hua's Dharma Talks 懺是懺其前愆，對以往所造的罪業，生大慚愧心；悔是悔其後過，立定主意，改過自新， 永遠不再犯錯。有過能改，歸於無；若想掩飾，不欲人知，是罪加一等！ “Repent” means being penitent about past offenses, feeling deep shame and re morse for the wrongs and karma committed in the past. “Reform” means regrett ing past wrongs, resolving to turn over a new leaf, and not committing the sam e mistakes in the future. Our offenses will be eradicated if we could rectify our faults. Those who try to cover up their faults so others will not know abo ut them will increase the severity of their offenses. 《華嚴經》裡教導我們以清淨的身口意，觀想在遍法界的諸佛菩薩前，誠心誠意地懺悔； 從今以後，再不復造。要念念相續，三業常常守住淨戒，不斷修行，沒有疲倦厭煩的時候 。你越拜佛，越有精神；越懺悔，越歡喜，這才是真懺悔。一旦重新做人後，就別再記掛 著過去；否則心理總有負擔，就像身上老揹著一個包袱，不能邁向光明的前程。 The Flower Adornment Sūtra teaches us to contemplate and visualize ourselves sincerely repenting before the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas throughout the Dharma realm with our actions, speech, and thoughts purified; refraining from committ ing these offenses again from now onwards; in thoughts after thoughts, constan tly upholding the precepts of purity through our three karmic deeds; and uncea singly cultivating without feeling wearied or vexed. The more we bow to the Bu ddhas, the more energetic we become. The more we repent, the more joy we exper ience. That is true repentance. Do not lament over the past after you have mad e a fresh start as a person. Otherwise, your mind will always feel burdened as if you were lugging heavy baggage with you, bogging you down from progressing towards your bright future. 不管你想修行超凡入聖，或只想過個快樂平安的人生，懺悔業障是必須的。唯有人人懺悔 業障、改過自新，世界和平才有希望。 Repenting of your karmic obstacles is crucial whether you want to transcend th e ordinary and join the sages through cultivation, or you merely want to lead a happy and peaceful life.
