This new album - his first recordings since 1996 - follows John旧 seminal work with The Stone Roses and The Seahorses that has seen him acclaimed as the finest guitarist and songwriter of his generation. On these recordings, John for the first time takes centre stage as vocalist.* Following experiments with several potential band line-ups, John found himself unexpectedly, and for the first time, working alone. 戦t was the first time since the Roses that I didn急 have a plan? Loathe to waste more time and energy finding a new singer; and a desire to stop having 単y ideas refracted through someone else?, John decided to try out his own voice for the first time and recruited Simon Dawson, co-producer of 争econd Coming? to work with him in recording new demos. The results of the initial recordings, developed into full blown sessions with drummer Andy Treacey, bassist Jonathan White, and keyboard player John Ellis in John旧 garage at his home in the Peak District. The resulting 10 track album was then mixed at Mayfair Studios in London.
