The midfielder arrives as a replacement for playmaker Mesut Oezil, who left for Real Madrid this summer. "We needed great patience and have now been rewarded, reinforcing with Wesley who is a very versatile and dynamic player and can play in all midfield positions," said sporting director Klaus Allofs. The 23-year-old has signed a four-year contract at the Weserstadion until June 2014 and earlier reports have suggested the transfer fee is in the region of €7.5 million. "It's my dream to play in a top league with a top club. I am overjoyed that this has worked out with Werder Bremen.
