1978/01/30, Rundown Studios, Santa Monica, California Tomorrow Is A Long Time 代碼：491if 這是 1978 年 "Big Band" tour 的 rehearsal tape，就在前往日本的 前幾天。 Tomorrow Is A Long Time 是很早期的作品，雖然著作權登記在 1963 年， 不過我能查到最早的表演日期，是在 1962 年 12 月紐約的 Witmark Studio ，代表這首歌嚴格說起，算是 Freewheelin' 的 outtake。 據一堆大頭們的考證，這首歌跟 Ballad in Plain D、Boots of Spanish Leather一樣， 寫作的對象都是 1964 以後遠赴義大利的 Susan "Suze" Rotolo （Freewheelin'封面那個女生），我對這還有一點存疑，畢竟離分手的時間 不對啊。 Anyway，這個 Rundown Studios 的版本，跟 1962 年的 Witmark demo、 或 Greatest Hits Vol.2 的感覺完全不一樣，非常的...1978 XD 很爛的形容詞啦，但我一聽到這次的 arrangement，很直覺就會想到是 1978~79 年的東西。 然後還有我最喜歡的 quote 之一:) I can't see my reflection in the waters, I can't speak the sounds that show no pain, I can't hear the echo of my footsteps, Or can't remember the sound of my own name.... -- Tomorrow Is A Long Time / Bob Dylan If today was not an endless highway, If tonight was not a crooked trail, If tomorrow wasn't such a long time, Then lonesome would mean nothing to you at all.
