The Republic of Ireland international, who hasn't pulled on a Rovers shirt since the end of August 2006, was ready to return to action in January 2007 after sustaining a back injury on international duty, but unfortunately he sustained a cruciate knee ligament injury that ruled him out for the remainder of last season. Niggling calf and hamstring injuries have hampered his progress this campaign, but his manager Mark Hughes has revealed that fans will get a chance to see the popular midfielder very soon. "Steven Reid been training with the group this week, he's done very well," said the Rovers boss. "He's done everything that is expected of him, has trained hard and he's looking to be involved in the reserves against Sunderland on Monday.
