"The good news is that he is training and doing everything that all the other players are doing," Lalas told Reuters. "We are still assessing -- not just his training but his recovery from training -- because it's been a while since he's done this," Lalas added. "I doubt he will play a role this weekend but we will certainly look to have him play a part in the game on Thursday" against the New York Red Bulls. Just last week Lalas said he was hopeful that Beckham "will play a part in our next two home games." But Lalas also warned that if Beckham was not fully ready he would not be activated. Beckham apparently is still not 100%, despite participating with no restrictions with the Galaxy in practice this week. The Galaxy still has an outside chance to make the Major League Soccer playoffs.
