We are shocked and saddened by the passing of Garret Anderson, a 17-year MLB v
eteran and a standout member of the 2002 World Series champion Angels.
A Los Angeles native, Anderson debuted with the Angels in 1994 and spent 15 of
his 17 Major League seasons with the team. He finished his career with the Br
aves and Dodgers, amassing 2,529 hits and a .293 career batting average.
Anderson was a 3-time All-Star. In 2003, Anderson won the Home Run Derby, and
as the starting left fielder for the AL, he went 3-for-4 with a home run to ca
pture game MVP honors.
A member of the Angels Hall of Fame, he holds several franchise records includ
ing games played (2,013), hits (2,368), doubles (489), extra-base hits (796),
RBI (1,292), and total bases (3,743).
In Game 7 of the 2002 World Series, it was Anderson’s 3-run double that provi
ded the winning margin in a 4-1 victory to clinch the first championship in An
gels history.
He was 53 years old.

支）、二壘安打（489支）、長打（796支）、打點（1,292分）以及壘打數（3,743）。
在2002年世界大賽第七戰中，正是Anderson的一支三分打點二壘安打，幫助球隊以4比1獲
勝，奪下隊史首座冠軍。
他享年53歲。
