The Blazers’ LaMarcus Aldridge was named the Western Conference Player of the Week for the week ending November 24th. He was joined by John Wall, who represented the Eastern Conference. It was Aldridge’s fourth such award during his career. Portland’s Wesley Matthews was also nominated for the award. During the week, Aldridge averaged 22.5 points and 10.5 rebounds while leading the Blazers to four straight victories, a small part of their current 10-game win streak. His week was highlighted by an impressive 30 point, 21 rebound performance on November 23rd against the Warriors to keep the streak alive. The Blazers are off to one of their best starts in years, currently sitting in second place in the Western Conference with a 12-2 record. Aldridge is nearly averaging a double-double on the season with 22.3 points and 9.6 rebounds per game. Both are team highs. For his part, Wall averaged 24.3 points and 8.5 assists during the week. His week was capped off with back-to-back 30+ point games against the Raptors (37) and the Knicks (31), and his Wizards are in ninth place in the Eastern Conference at 5-8.
