John Canzano reports in the Oregonian that Brandon Roy is almost assured to
be waived by the Blazers via amnesty.
"Brandon's out," a league executive told Canzano. "Don't know the exact
details, but everyone around the league knows it's way, way done." Canzano
later said that there are supporters within the organization to keep Roy and
bring him into camp, but they are currently in the minority. It's far from a
done deal, but it looks like Roy's days in Portland could be numbered.
Multiple teams would be interested in adding him if he's waived, but details
are uncertain until the new CBA is in place and teams are allowed to openly
discuss players. Stay tuned.
