In 2009-10, Nate McMillan's Portland Trail Blazers overcame 311 games missed
by injury to finish with a 50-32 record and earn its second consecutive trip
to the postseason. Eight different Trail Blazers missed at least 15 games due
to injury, including six of the eight leading scorers from last season.
McMillan guided the Trail Blazers to 50 wins in back-to-back seasons for the
first time since 1999-2000 and 2000-01, and reached the playoffs in
consecutive seasons for the first time since 2002-03.
McMillan became the 15th youngest head coach in NBA history to reach 400 wins
with a March 12 win at Sacramento. Fifteen days later, he earned his 191st
win in Portland, passing Mike Dunleavy for third among all-time Trail Blazers
head coaches.
McMillan finished third in this year's Coach of the Year voting.
McMillan is 12-16 overall in four postseason appearances, including a 4-8
record with Portland.
