以下是國外一位球迷將McMillan上廣播節目時的一段談話節錄下來：
A few interesting comments from Nate via Quick
Quick was on 1080 for the pre-game show and had a few interesting comments
from a conversation he had with Nate earlier. He basicly asked how far away
Nate felt the team was from becoming a serious contender for the playoffs.
Basicly, he said he still thinks they are about a year away. He also said he
feels that the team is just one player acquisition away from becoming a
threat aswell. With the trade deadline approaching, Quick asked Nate, if you
could have one player, who would you want? Without hesitation, he said "We
need a shooter". He didnt name any names, but he made it clear that this team
needs a shooter.

McMillan認為拓荒者距離進入季後賽還需要一年的時間。
他還認為球隊需要有一位球原來讓球隊變的更具有威脅性，
至於隨著trade deadline慢慢的接近，目前他最想什麼類型的球員加入球隊？
他則回答：We need a shooter.(我們需要一名射手)

他是小前鋒+射手+veteran player +有防守+低失誤率+便宜短約+沒有嚴重傷病...
也就是說...他老兄完全符合拓荒者需要。
