On Wednesday, Wizards President of Basketball Operations
Ernie Grunfeld issued a brief statement on restricted free
agent guard Steve Blake.
"I have talked with Steve who told me that he wanted to play
in a situation where he would get significant minutes with a
team, and he didn't feel the situation would present itself
here. We have upgraded our backcourt with some significant
additions in the offseason. We wish Steve the best and we
thank him for his contributions to the organization."
大致就是說巫師隊有給Blake 留下來的機會，不過他認為待在那
裡的上場時間不太夠（
不過拓荒者隊的後場不也是擠到爆嗎？）；而
巫師隊也趁幾筆交易，把Hughes和幾名後場球員離隊的洞給填補起來
，所以兩方便沒有進行續約的動作，最後Blake 確定落腳Portland。
