The Waiho River Bridge will reopen at 12 pm this Saturday. Formalities are based on the north side of the bridge and start at 11am. With short addresses from NZTA, NZDF and WDC, followed by a blessing by Te Runanga o Makaawhio. People will be able to walk over the bridge prior to its opening to traffic and the first vehicle across will head from the north to the south and have those that crossed the old bridge for the last time. The road is to be reopened by 12noon, once formalities have been completed. As a community we are working on an event to get people together later in April, more to come on this. But tomorrow people are looking to meet at The Landing from 5pm for a drink to celebrate the reopening. Its been a tough 17 days for a lot of people, and this is a big step in the right direction but doesn’t mean people are not still doing it tough on a number of levels. 總之呢！就是west coast的路段可以一如往常的行駛，所以有冰河健行或直升機行程的人不用擔心取消了！從西岸通往Wanaka,Queenstown也無須再繞遠路即可抵達！ --
