Power: Can go deep, but he's not a big power guy. Running speed: He's not a clogger, but he's below average. Base running: Has great baseball instincts, so he makes the most of what he does have on the basepaths. Arm strength: His arm is fringy-average now and should be average in the future . He gets the ball down to second quickly and accurately. Fielding: A good receiver, he's comfortable behind the plate and frames pitches well. Range: He moves well behind the plate. Physical Description: Stassi is very strong, compact backstop, with ripped shoulders. He's got a weight-lifting guy look to him. Medical Update: Some shoulder tendinitis kept him from catching for a couple of weeks, but it's not a serious issue. Strengths: Good catching skills and good overall hitting ability. Makeup and instincts are off the charts. Weaknesses: Like many young players, hitting breaking stuff is a challenge. His arm is just OK behind the plate. Summary: It's a good year for prep catchers in Northern California and Stassi is one of the best in that crop. Scouts like his overall package of hitting ability, defensive ability, makeup and baseball instincts.
