Orlando Cabrera, playing his first game in the field at shortstop, followed with a full-count, line-drive single to left. Garciaparra scored on Ryan Sweeney's RBI single, and Cabrera scored on Mark Ellis' sacrifice fly. Garciaparra made it 2-for-2 when he lashed a first-pitch double to left in the second inning and finished 2-for-3. Jack Cust hit a solo homer, his second long ball of the spring, in the fifth inning. Daric Barton delivered an RBI double, then drove in two runs with a ninth-inning single.
