He is a big guy and doesn't play the field too well. He doesn't make many errors (only 1 this season) but he isn't too fast and has trouble cutting balls off in the gap and down the line. He has a strong arm (led his team in assists last year I believe) but due to his lack of mobility he is a typical DH. He was drafted by Arizona before being traded to the Rockies so he never had a chance to DH. He was then moved to Baltimore and in limited action did pretty well. They moved him to Oakland where he was stuck behind some highly touted prospects before being moved to San Diego, another lack of opportunity to DH. Since he has been with San Diego's AAA affiliate in Portland he has produced incredible numbers.
