Arsene Wenger believes Thierry Henry should be playing as a central striker
for Barcelona.
溫格認為亨利在巴薩應該踢中鋒。
The Frenchman has been regularly played on the left-wing for the Catalan side
and, as a result, has failed to hit the form that saw him become Arsenal’s
all-time leading goal-scorer. This week, the 31-year-old was even quoted
saying he was unhappy in Spain.
近來這位法國前鋒經常被安排在左前鋒的位置上出賽,
結果造成他不像以往在槍手總是領跑射手榜。
本週甚至有媒體引用亨利的話說: 他在西班牙不快樂。
The Arsenal manager thinks that despite looking impressive in the recent
international matches, Henry is the wrong side of 30 to be playing as an
out-and-out winger.
兵工廠教練溫格表示, 儘管亨利在國家隊表現出色, 但30歲的他不該再被排在邊路。
“Personally I found him quite sharp playing for France against Austria and
Serbia,” said Wenger at Friday’s press conference.
“There’s tough competition up there [Barcelona] but I believe he should
play through the centre where he feels more comfortable because it’s more
difficult to be a winger when you are over 30.
溫格在週五的槍手例行記者會上表示:
「我個人認為亨利在法國對奧地利與塞爾維亞賽中表現非常犀利,

“I want him to be happy first of all because he made us happy at Arsenal
for many years and at the moment he is not. But unfortunately that’s part of
the career of a player. He goes through these kinds of periods at the start
of his career and at the end of his career.
「我希望他快樂, 他在兵工廠時總是能帶給我們快樂, 但現在的他並不開心,
令人遺憾地這是職業球員生活的一部份。
球員生涯的前幾年是亨利的低潮, 而在接近尾聲時他又得再經歷一回」
“But I feel at the moment that he is too young to be at the end of his
career.”
「儘管如此, 我仍認為現在談退休對他來說還太早。」
