The ex-England defender will take up his role on Saturday and replaces Kevin Bond who moved to Newcastle. The 39-year-old former Arsenal captain has managed Wycombe Wanderers and coached in Holland following his retirement in 2002. Redknapp told the club website: "Tony can do a great job for us, he knows the game inside out and I'm really looking forward to him working alongside me." The role is Adams' first in the English top-flight and the first time he will have worked under the former West Ham manager. Adams spoke of his admiration for Redknapp earlier this month.
