Jenas scored the only goal as England B went down 2-1 to Belarus in a World Cup warm-up game in Reading on Thursday. Walcott, 17, impressed during a second half run-out and Jenas told BBC Sport : "He showed a bit of what he can do and I'm sure you will see a lot more. "He is a young, raw talent and in a world-class team like England he could really do something at the World Cup." England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson caused a shock by naming Arsenal forward Walcott as one of four strikers in his 23-man squad for Germany despite never having seen him play. Walcott has yet to play in the Premiership for Arsenal and had not appeared for England at anything higher than Under-19 level before facing Belarus. His 30-minute appearance was in an England side made up of fringe players eager to impress and first-team stars in need of some match fitness. Jenas added: "He has got a lot more to his game than pace and he has shown that this week in training and in the game. "I've seen a lot of him and he's a sharp, skilful lad. He'll get at defenders and he has obviously got that pace to get in behind defences that we need. "He came on with that raw attitude and no fear - he just went out there and performed. "Theo looks like he is dealing with the hype really well, as long as he has got that confidence in himself he will be fine." As the game is not classified as a full international Walcott does not gain a cap, and therefore must wait to replace Wayne Rooney as the youngest player to play for England. Rooney was 17 years and 111 days when he made his debut against Australia in February 2003, meaning Walcott has until 5 July to earn the record. -- Political,opinionated,energetic and determined.
