打教和板凳教練走人。 ANAHEIM -- Angels general manager Jerry Dipoto and longtime skipper Mike Scioscia will both be staying on for next season, despite year-long speculation that at least one of them would be dismissed after a fourth consecutive playoff absence. The two found out they're both returning "very recently," Dipoto said in a conference call on Tuesday night. Scioscia is signed through 2018 and Dipoto will be entering the final year of his deal. "We've gone through a variety of meetings at the season's end, both internally and sitting down with [owner] Arte [Moreno]," Dipoto said. "Obviously you guys know that we had a very difficult season, it was disappointing how we finished on the field and we had our own issues to deal with in wrapping our season up, both with players on the roster and things that we need to improve upon internally. "I sat down with Mike a number of times, we sat down with Arte, and were made aware of this just a couple days ago and we're moving on in a productive way." Bench coach Rob Picciolo and hitting Jim Eppard will not be returning. Dino Ebel, on the staff since November 2005, has been promoted from third-base coach to bench coach. Dipoto and Scioscia said they have a long list of internal and external candidates for the vacancies at hitting coach and third-base coach, and they'll also look to add a seventh coach to the staff -- perhaps as an assistant hitting coach. Picciolo had just completed his third year as Scioscia's bench coach and Eppard was in his first full season as the hitting coach, originally taking over after Mickey Hatcher was dismissed in May 2012. Asked about his relationship with Dipoto, Scioscia said: "One thing with Jerry and I ... there is absolutely no philosophical gap that is real. I think there's a lot of chatter out there, and it's just not accurate. And I think the one thing we moved on from was when Mickey was let go. We moved on from that, and there's nothing but us wanting to work as a team and get better, and that's what we're going to look to do." --
