According to David Waldstein of the New York Times, the Angels are close
to a multi-year contract with Hisanori Takahashi, pending a physical.
It sounds like this one is very close to being done, as he was on his way
to California on Thursday to take part in a medical examination with team
doctors. Takahashi, 35, served as both a starter and reliever with the Mets
this past season, posting a 3.61 ERA and 1.30 WHIP over 122 innings. He'll
likely be a reliever in Anaheim.
