轉貼徵求實驗受試者訊息 @ 牛津 Perceptual Decision-Making and Pain Hello, I am Dr Chia-shu Lin from the Pain Imaging Neuroscience Group of the Centre for Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging of the Brain (FMRIB) at the John Radcliffe Hospital. We have launched a new research project on the perception of pain using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). We are looking for healthy right-handed volunteers who are between 18 and 45 years old. The aim of the study is to identify brain regions which are critical for the perception of an external stimulus as painful. The study includes two MRI brain scans. In the first visit, heat stimuli of an intensity around your individual pain threshold will be applied. Your task is to classify each stimulus as either painful or non-painful. During the second visit, we acquire a very detailed anatomical picture of your brain that will be used to study connections between different brain regions. The overall duration of the first visit is 1.5 hours, the second visit will take approximately 1 hour. To compensate for your time, you will receive ￡30 for two visits including travel expenses.
