Hewitt to make Kooyong debut Kooyong,19 October 2010 Lleyton Hewitt will make his first appearance at a Kooyong Classic next year in the build-up to the Australian Open. The former world No.1, currently recovering from a wrist injury suffered in Australia's Davis Cup loss to Belgium in Cairns last month, confirmed on Tuesday that he will appear at the January 12-15 tournament. Hewitt's manager David Drysdale said the two-time grand slam champion was hoping to have recovered sufficiently from his injury to start hitting balls next month. Drysdale added that despite an injury-plagued 12 months, 29-year-old Hewitt still had the competitive fire to play at the top level for at least another couple of years. Other players who have been confirmed as Kooyong starters will be Tomas Berdych, Mikhail Youzhny, Fernando Verdasco, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Gael Monfils. Kooyong regular Roger Federer is yet to be confirmed while discussions with world No.1 Rafael Nadal are ongoing.
