He is a symbol of the club, like Francesco Totti.” The midfielder is a prime transfer target for Real Madrid and confessed he would only leave his hometown side if it was for the Bernabeu. “De Rossi is a Roma player and he is not for sale,” declared Sensi. “He is a symbol of the club and a great champion, just like Totti. “I would’ve liked to see Totti at the World Cup, as he would’ve made the difference along with De Rossi, but I respect the decisions of the Coach. “In any case, knowing Francesco is healthy and can rest up for another wonderful season with Roma can only make me happy.” There are other transfer irons in the fire for the Giallorossi, who have already snapped up Adriano and Fabio Simplicio on free transfers. “We had the Adriano idea quite a long time ago, tracked him quietly and in February continued our negotiations. There was a lot of work behind this operation, as he was a popular player wanted by many clubs.” Question marks remain over Nicolas Andre Burdisso, who is currently at the World Cup with Argentina.
