Cassetti: 6 - Got forward on a few occasions but gave a solid performance in defence to limit the visitors' opportunities. Burdisso: 7.5 - Slightly overshadowed by Juan's performance, but he won his share of the challenges and prevented Chievo from having any clear cut opportunities. Juan: 9 - Imperious at the back. Hard in the challenge and won countless tackles and headers - a sublime performance as he broke up wave upon wave of Chievo attacks. Riise: 6.5 - Competent at the back but completely wasted three opportunities from free kicks. Needs a cooler head when the goal is in sight. De Rossi: 7 - Perfect header for the goal and made some dangerous runs forward from his defensive midfield position. Battled hard as usual and was withdrawn after 64 minutes after picking up a knock. Pizarro: 7.5 - Pulled the strings in midfield and always looked to spread the ball to the wings or chip in a cross. Perfect corner for De Rossi's goal. Had a chance to double the lead but missed his penalty. Taddei: 6.5 - He was putting in some excellent crosses and is already linking up well with Toni but should have made it 2-0 in the first half as he missed a simple opportunity. Perrotta: 6 - Forced into a more defensive role than he is comfortable with, and never really got onto the ball as he attempted just 23 passes. Vucinic: N/A - Only had 12 minutes before he was sacrificed by Ranieri following Doni's red card. Toni: 7.5 - He had a couple of golden opportunities to open his account for Roma but is clearly rusty and lacking match fitness. Did incredibly well on his own up front to hold up the ball until the cavalry arrived. Substitutes: Lobont: 5.5 - Didn't have much to deal with despite Roma being down to 10 men but still looked uncertain as he flapped at crosses and distributed the ball poorly. Brighi: 6 - Replaced De Rossi with half an hour to go with the task of breaking up the visitors' attacks and did an adequate job.
