By Will Ashwell With the debate over big clubs poaching young stars raging on, Roma director Bruno Conti has slated Manchester United over their transfer policies. Referencing United's acquisition of David Petrucci from Roma back in July 2008, Conti believes Sir Alex Ferguson is more than willing to poach all the talent he can. And, with FIFA handing down tough sanctions after Chelsea's induced youngster Gael Kakuta to break his contract with Lens in 2007, Conti feels Manchester United should be punished for their similar methods. Speaking of United's controversial acquisition of Petrucci, Conti told The Mail on Sunday: "Our coach at the time, Luciano Spalletti, called Sir Alex Ferguson when he got wind of the Petrucci move and asked him to put a stop to it. "Ferguson said he would see what he could do. But we heard nothing. "United are still behaving in this way. It is not sport and it is no way for Sir Alex Ferguson, one of the game's great leaders, to conduct himself. "We invest a lot in these young players in time, education and money. The law still allows them to do that but Uefa president Michel Platini is already in talks with the Italian FA to look at ways to eliminate this." More recently, Manchester United have ruffled feathers by capturing 16-year-old Alberto Massacci and 18-year-old Manuel Pucciarelli from Serie B side Empoli. "We are not happy," Empoli director Giuseppe Vitale said. "United do this kind of thing because they know our regulations in Italy.
