Heinze - 4.0: Very poor, was completely sleeping on Taddei' s goal, and his marking at the set-pieces was abysmal. His playacting was also infuriating to watch and he got Taddei booked early in the game by diving. The Brazilian later got his revenge. Diarra - 5.5: Lots of energy and battled hard until he was substituted, however very little quality or guile to his game. Gago - 5.5: Kept the game ticking with some neat passes, however along with Diarra and Guti, was completely outclassed by De Rossi and Aquilani. Baptista - 7.0: Real Madrid' s most dangerous and effective player. Desperately unlucky when crashed a brilliant free-kick against the crossbar. Guti - 5.0: For all his class and moments of genius, Guti is such an infuriatingly inconsistent player. Tonight he just did not get into the game, although this also happens to playmakers when the come up to against De Rossi. Robinho - 5.0: The player Real Madrid were looking to for inspiration, but the Brazilian failed to deliever. Missed his side' s best chance when he showed a lack of composure in front of goal. Raul - 6.5: Was anonymous for 65 minutes but he finished the game very strongly, taking his goal well, and looking a threat thereafter. Subs: Drethe 6.0, Torres 5.5, Soldado 5.5 Roma Doni - 6.0: Did not have too many serious save to make, but dealt with everything with the minimal fuss. Cicinho -6.0: Enjoyed the return to his old hunting ground, and was surprisingly sound defensively. Joined the attacks well also. Juan - 7.0: Did not put a foot wrong all night, comfortably dealt with the threat of Raul and Robinho. Mexes - 8.0: An absolute rock in defense. Has been in sensational from in recent games.A tank wouldn' t have got past him tonight. If he doesn' t make France' s EURO 2008 squad then Raymond Domenech certainly has something against Serie A. Tonetto - 7.5: One of Roma' s surprise performance on the night. Created Taddei' s goal, and also set up the chance for Vucinic that crashed off the bar. De Rossi - 8.0: Dominated the midfield. A real monster with such techtical astuteness. One of the most in-form players in Europe at the moment. Surely has to be preffered to Massimo Amborsini for Italy at the Euros. Aquilani - 8.0: Aquilani and De Rossi are the future centre-midfield parthership of the Azzurri. Aquilani was arguably the man-of-the-match, crashing a brilliant 30-yard shot against the angle of post-and-bar, while also bringing out a world-class save from Casillas with another thunderbolt. Taddei - 7.0: Wonderful header into the top corner to give Roma the lead, almost created a tap-in for De Rossi also late in the game. An early birthday present for Taddei, who turns 28 tomorrow. Perrotta - 6.0: Typical hardworking display. Made a number of the intelligent runs, brought out one fine stop from Casillas. Mancini - 6.0: Not one of Mancini' s best games. Was marked closely by salgado, and was eventually replace by Vucinic, who was unstoppable, hit the crossbar, and also scored after coming on. Totti - 6.5: Held the ball up well, and made some eye-catching flicks and backheels. Not at inspirational though as he has been in his last two games against Inter and Parma.
