有错字请指正，和大家分享一些常见的西方谚语，学生写作文也很好用。
1.It is not so much the gift that is given but the way in which the gift is
driven.礼轻情意重。(千里送鹅毛。)
2.It is easy to be wise after the event.
事後诸葛；不经一事，不长一智。
3.An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
预防胜於治疗。
4.The is no accounting for tastes.
人各有所好。
5.It’s no use locking the stable door after the horse has bolted.
马狂奔後再锁上马厩门是没用的。(亡羊补牢，为时已晚。)
6.Don’t count your chickens before they’re hatched.
别再小鸡未孵出前先算有几只。(别打如意算盘。)
7.We never know the worth of water till the well is dry.
井枯方知水价值。(身在福中不知福。)
8.Where there is a will, there is a way.
有志者事竟成。
9.It’s never too late to mend.
亡羊补牢，犹未晚矣。
10.When in Rome, do as the Romans do.
入境随俗。
11.If you can’t beat them, join them.
如果你不能打败他们，就加入他们。
12.Nothing is given as freely as advice.
没有东西像忠告那麽无价。
13.Actions speak louder than words.
行动胜於空谈；事实胜於雄辩。
14.As a man sows, so shall you reap.
As you sow, so you shall reap.
种瓜得瓜，种豆得豆。要怎麽收获，就怎麽栽。
15.Heaven helps those who help themselves.
天助自助者。
16.Money makes the mare go.
有钱能使鬼推磨。
17.You might as well be hung for a sheep as for a lamb.
偷羔羊也受绞刑，还不如偷绵羊。(一不做，二不休。)
18.It never rains, but it pours.
每逢下雨，必是倾盆大雨。(祸不单行。)
19.All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
只工作而不游戏，会使人变得迟钝。
