标题[请益/英文]初中英文 但却很苦恼

(A)many more (B)much more
答案给(B)
可是却在某本文法书上看到 more+可数名词复数+than要用many??
2.The teacher________ many times,but I didn't listen to her.
(A)talked to (B)had told
答案给(B)
但我觉得but是对等连接词，两边时态应相同为何不能选(A)??
3.When I knocked the door,nobody answered.
这句在某张考卷里是错误的，但我看不出哪里错误??
不才琐碎问题，占用英文高手们一些时间
